As a passionate creator, teacher and Apple Distinguished Educator, I am able to produce unparalleled educational experiences for my students. As a faculty member of your school, I would be able to utilize my experience teaching in a multitude of specialty areas, as well as my experience from my previous career in the Los Angeles Film Industry to develop innovative and engaging learning opportunities for your students.
I am currently in my 5th year of teaching in Hong Kong, where I teach Film Studies, Music, and Phys-Ed at Delia School of Canada. Additionally, I have had experience in coding, robotics, and other tech-related areas and have developed a high level of expertise in digital media design.
I have spent the last few years developing an educational YouTube channel, where I am able to teach elementary music lessons to students around the world. I have also produced a YouTube channel for my school, where I share broadcasts from my Student News Club with the local school community and families abroad.

Utilizing my experience from the Los Angeles film industry, and my experience developing the DSCKE Film Studies program, I would be able to develop a successful film program for the school and would be able to create a program appropriate for any age group. This would also include working with administrators to discuss budgetary requirements necessary to develop the program.

Whether producing electronic music or recording live instruments, I would be able to develop a music production program utilizing my extensive musical background and education at a Recording Arts school in Toronto.
In my music production lessons, students would learn various pieces of software, ranging from entry level software like GarageBand, to more professional level software like Logic Pro X, and how to use this to effectively to create digital music or record live instruments.
As your Digital Media Specialist, I would be able to produce a high quality student news program, where students and faculty can show off the fantastic things happening throughout your school and connect with the parent community. I would be excited to work with teachers and students throughout the school to engage their learning and understanding of how to implement various types technology in the classroom. With a hybrid schedule of teaching mixed with bookable time in my schedule, this would afford me the ability to do work with, not only my own students, but the entire school.
I have had extensive experience promoting my personal brand as an educator, through my personal educational YouTube channel, where I have over 1400 subscribers, my professional Twitter account where I share with almost 10,000 fellow educators, and professional instagram account, where I connect with the local school community including parents and students throughout the school. Additionally, I have used my website, MrErdogan.com, to engage students in my classes with online content where students can find resources to be successful in their studies.
Since creating the DSCKE TV YouTube channel, I have had experience developing an online platform to share student and teacher excellence with the parent community, as well as everyone around the world in a meaningful and accessible way to promote my school.
I would be able to work with administrators and lead the development of the school’s online “brand” and help develop or further grow your online presence.
As your Digital Media Specialist, I would be able to produce promotional content to celebrate special events throughout the school.
Utilizing my experience as an athlete, I would feel confident in my ability to lead or assist in coaching school teams. My primary sports are Basketball and Volleyball, I would feel confident coaching these sports, and helping with others where needed.
With my Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, my experience as a Phys-Ed Teacher, Personal Trainer, as well as my time training as an athlete, I would be able to develop and lead a program that teaches students proper nutrition and how to exercise safely for a variety fitness goals, either as a class, or extra-curricular activity.
With my background in music education and experience in producing concerts for DSCKE, I can assist music and drama teachers with producing and organizing school plays & concerts where needed.
My passion for education is unparalleled and has always been something that has pushed me towards excellence. I have always worked to inspire my students in new and interesting ways. My personal Music Educational YouTube channel is a perfect example of this. With this channel I have been able to support my students with educational videos that I’ve created, which has also been an opportunity for me to educate students from around the world.

As a 21st century educator, I try to innovate and find new and engaging ways to inspire learning from both my students and peers.
In my music classes I produce educational content for my Music Education YouTube Channel to enhance student learning. Additionally, with my #StarWarsOnRecorder Global Ed. project, I challenge elementary music students from all over the world to participate and learn difficult but fun and engaging pieces of music.
In my Film Studies class, I work towards engaging students in new and exciting ways by producing content to spark their interest, so they may see a clear idea of the end-goal for each activity, as well as a break down of how to get there.
Having had a previous career in the film industry in Los Angeles and Toronto, I have had years to learn about film & media production in various studio settings.
With my education at a Recording Arts school and having spent many of my formative years working with music production software and hardware, I have been able to hone my skills in music production.
With this experience, I have developed expertise over the years that sets me apart from every other educator in film/media design.

I enjoy working with fellow educators in my own community and around the world to share knowledge, collaborate on innovative projects, and elevate student learning. I connect with teachers via Twitter, through my Apple Distinguished Educator network, and at conferences or teach-meets. I enjoy working with others and sharing ideas of best practice in education. If I were at your school, I would enjoy connecting with other educators within the school and organizing workshops or other learning opportunities for faculty members.
By the Fall of 2020, I will have had 5 years of international teaching experience, as well as many years of experience in my previous career, which has helped to shape my passion and interest as a teacher. I feel what I can bring to the table from my previous career and life experience sets me apart from many other candidates.

Since DSCKE is a new school, each year the school has changed as well as my teaching role. When the school originally opened in 2015 it was a grade 1-6 school, where I taught grades 1-6 Phys-Ed/Health, and 4-6 Music. I was responsible for independently developing these programs as well as purchasing all equipment needed for each program. As the school continued to develop, I began the Film/Media program for the school, which also included working with administrators to propose and purchase all necessary equipment.
During my time with the school I have had the opportunity to be in multiple leadership positions. I have been a lead teacher for international trips to Thailand for 2 years, I was one of the founding House Leaders for the school House Program, and I have also been responsible for organizing school concerts each year and other assemblies. Most notably, I produced a “Star Wars” themed concert, where I arranged and taught all music for the concert, as well as developed drama skits and managed all scheduling and rehearsals.
I have had the opportunity to coach basketball and volleyball teams and lead a variety of clubs at various age levels. These include sports clubs, LEGO robotics, music club, and more recently the popular DSCKE News club, a Student News club where we produce weekly news broadcasts for the school to highlight weekly events happening around the school using the YouTube channel I developed for the school (DSCKEtv) to share with parents and the world.
